My Haig mount was constructed of scrap materials in my home workshop in one evening. The plans were in "ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY" by H.J.P. Arnold which I purchased from Sky Publishing.

My mount is rough in that I used mostly scrap materials. The total cost was under $10.00 for hardware. The ball head I used for camera attachement is an old one I had on hand. You can construct a suitable substitute camera attachment using the plans provided in the above publication.

If you have even a little bit of handyman in you, give it a try. My Haig mount does its job well and I'm no workshop wizard.

Good luck.
